Serbia is situated at the crossroads between Central and Southeast Europe, covering the southern part of the Pannonian Plain and the central Balkans.

BELGRADE
Belgrade – meaning ‘White City’ – is the capital of the Republic of Serbia. Various styles of architecture dominate the city while its recent resurgence as the leading hub in south-eastern Europe makes it a must-see destination. It lies on the confluence of the two major European rivers, Sava and Danube.

Belgrade Fortress (Beogradska Tvrđava) is the oldest cultural and historical landmark in Belgrade. Also of interest to tourists are Skadarlija, the central bohemian quarter; the Residence of Princess Ljubica (Konak Kneginje Ljubice); Captain Miša’s Building (Kapetan Mišino Zdanje); the Old Palace and New Palace (Stari Dvor and Novi Dvor); the Serbian National Assembly building and the Cathedral of Saint Sava (Hram Svetog Save).

NOVI SAD
Situated on the Danube River between Budapest and Belgrade, it is a treasured regional and cultural centre. In the 19th century, the city was the capital of Serbian culture, earning the nickname Serbian Athens. In that time, almost every Serbian novelist, poet, jurist, and publicist at the end of 19th century and at the beginning of 20th century had lived or worked in Novi Sad some time of his or her career.

The most recognized structure in Novi Sad is Petrovaradin Fortress, which dominates the city and with scenic views of the city. Besides the fortress, there is also historic neighborhood of Stari Grad, with many monuments, museums, caffes, restaurants and shops. There is also a National Park of Fruška Gora nearby.

Since 2000, Novi Sad is home to the EXIT festival, one of the biggest music summer festival in Europe.

Niš is the third largest Serbian city. It is one of the oldest cities in the Balkans and Europe. It is located in southern Serbia, at the crossroads of the most important Balkan and European routes connecting Europe with the Middle East.

The most important cultural and historical attractions in Niš are the Mediana – a large 4th-century Roman estate and Niš Fortress – the best-preserved Turkish fortress in the central Balkans, built in 1723 and containing the remains of Roman Naissus in its foundations.

Picnic sites in the surroundings of Niš include the Sićevačka Klisura gorge, a protected natural feature with rare plants and animals and the Jelašnička Klisura gorge – a special nature reserve with waterfalls and rare plants and animals.

ZLATIBOR
Zlatibor is a mountainous region situated in the western part of Serbia. Zlatibor means “Golden Pine”. On Zlatibor you can see many pine trees and that’s the reason why people called this beautiful Serbian mountain as “Golden Pine Mountain”.

At the average height of 1000 m, Zlatibor offers an unforgettable scenery and a unique climate for those seeking rest, relaxation, as well as enjoying winter and summer sports, such as skiing, walking and swimming. The mountain is famous as an air spa where mountain and sea streams collide. The summers are hot and the winters are mild.

Zlatibor is declared as a therapeutic region, for all acute and chronic diseases of respiration organs, of thyroid gland, of all kinds of anaemia. The stay on Zlatibor is recommended for convalescence after infectious diseases and surgical operations too.
